Cannot log into iTunes

Hi

My Macbook is late 2011running 10.10.5.

I keep getting asked to sign in by iTunes and I can put in my password but it won't accept it without the verification code (which appears on my iPad) as there is no fill in box on the Macbook. This means that I cannot buy content on iTunes without signing in.

Now I understand that my OS may be too old to use 2 factor verification. Interestingly, I can sign into these communities using Chrome.

So I tried updating to the latest OS (that may accept 2 factor verification) butI have to sign in. So I cannot upgrade. Any suggestions?

On a similar matter, all my devices are continuing to ask to sign in at least once a day. It is driving me, and my wife, mad. She has a very short fuse when it comes to technology. Remember KISS?

Thanks

Vic

Rainy day here so I can spend a few hours trying to get the 2FA to work.

I found that you can enter the verification code on older devices by (1) Entering your password, then wait until the error appears to ask you to also enter the verification code, then (2) re-enter your password along with the verification code with no spaces.

So if your password is abc12345 then when it asks you to enter your password and the verification code (987654) you enter abc12345987654.

Hope this helps others who may have misunderstood the instructions as have had with a couple of friends who have had the same problems.

Now to get the AppleTV App to work (I have had to return 2 rentals now as I cannot stream from my iPad AppleTV App to my apple TV to the TV). YouTube works though.
