How do I get my USB Superdrive to connect to my Mid 2020 MacBook Pro

I have the USB to USB-C adapter but cannot get my USB Superdrive external CD reader to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.0

I have a SuperDrive connected to my iMac using a USB A connector. It does not show up in Finder, which is normal. It "turns on" only when I insert a CD. Have you tried inserting a CD?

What are you seeing (or not seeing) to make you think it doesn’t work? Did the SuperDrive ever work on that computer? If you have access to another Mac, does the drive (still) work there?
