Anyone familiar with what this
message means?
“iMessage and FaceTime number has expired . Remove and reinsert the sim to keep using number ..... for iMessage and FaceTime.”
Its a permanent message in notifications and appears and settings message.

I solved this issue for myself and my wife. We changed our providers recently. For us the issue was caused when we put the new sims in the phones. It should take 24hrs for the numbers to port over but it took much longer. So we had to reinsert our old sims. Within the phones settings the carrier is still using our old number but the phone also registered the new number, so two numbers. So...
Its seems like a lot and maybe there’s a quicker way but this sorted this expired number issue for us. Best of luck!
I have this exact issue since porting out my number from one provider to another. I tried reinserting the sim, resetting network, and removing re adding number . Nothing works

Hello, thanks for the reply. The weird thing is the issue just appear recently in the past week. Anyway what IOS version installed on your phone? For mine it is IOS 14.3.
I’m on 14.3 as well but the issue started in early Nov when I was on an earlier version of IOS 14
Hi, this has been very helpful! Just a quick question you mentioned about old sim and new sim, could I just ask when you were doing steps 1 - 6 did you have the old sim in the phone and on step 7 change back to the new sim?

iPhone 6s IOS 14.6. The above worked for me thanyou. Whilst I had not changed numbers or carriers, a few weeks ago I was trying to fix an issue with a friends phone and had swapped sims with his briefly ( his was a different carrier).
Sometime thereafter I got the subject message but removing my sim and reinstalling it did not fix the issue. This fix by Itsciaran did!
Same for me as well and I’m on 14.3.
All functions of the phone still work ok for me, it’s just annoying to see that message in notifications.
Strangely not many results found on the net about this issue.
Yes, I have the same issue. I’m in another country. I tried using another sim. It got rejected ( I guess it’s locked). I re- inserted the old ATT sim and I get that message again.
