Getting rid of CleanMyMac X?

Hi there,

So I was stupid and downloaded CleanMyMacX on my iMac because I thought based on the many websites I looked at that it was reliable. Now I know that it is something I should not have at all. I just have some questions about it... What is the best way to get rid of it? I tried uninstalling it from the app itself and it froze up and didn't fully complete it... There still seems to be files that were from it remaining. What should I do to remove these files? Second, what harm does CleanMyMac X do? Does it just make your computer slow, or is it taking personal information? Luckily, I downloaded this on a computer that I did not use a lot, therefore, I did not have many files on it. However, I was signed into some accounts for other things. Is it taking my personal information?

I'm pretty sure I only used the "System Junk" option and let it delete some files until it said I needed to pay for the full version (which I did not do). After that, I tried to do the "Maintenance" option, but it continued to say I needed to pay for the full version, so I closed it and haven't used it until today, when I tried to remove it. I also noticed that it continued to stay open, showing its app in the top right corner, however, I haven't signed into my account since I last used it (It hasn't been running in the background for that long because I don't use the computer much).

Sorry if I wrote too much, I'm just really worried about this. Thank you so much to anyone who can help.

Sorry for the late reply, but I ran the test and it said I had no major issues. It did have a lot of minor issues, though. However, I am more concerned about removing the CleanMyMac files, which it does not mention in the report. In addition to this, I would just like to know why CleanMyMac X is not good - is it just a scam for money, or are they taking my information?
