Keyboard data (Chinese & Japanese)

iPhone 12 Pro Max

IOS 14.2.1

I’m looking in my iCloud ->next back-up & I see

“Keyboard Data (Chinese & Japanese)

5.9MB”

BUT in Settings->General->Keyboard

I have 2 Keyboards selected:

English (US)

Emoji

Why does it show (“Chinese & Japanese”) in the back-up data? 🤔🤷‍♀️

And why the heck is it taking so freaking long for Apple to patch up this possible data leak??

I’m seeing threads on this SAME issue going back 4yrs. Those that do not study history are doomed to repeat it! I am VERY CONCERNED about a possible data breach & I know there are over 1200 users that have clicked the “Me Too” button over the last several years.

All iOS installs include Japanese/Chinese keyboards, they are listed in the tech specs for iPhones and iPads.

I believe it's for Chinese and Japanese keyboards and poses no security risks. Everyone has it on their devices.

That’s the same standard answer I’ve seen posted over the 4 yrs of threads. And seriously, THAT is not an answer. I have ENGLISH keyboard chosen, ONLY ENGLISH. Yet China & Japan are some how involved with my keystrokes.

And btw the Chinese & Japanese keyboards have their own separate boxes & I have NOT added those to my list, only ENGLISH.

Not true not everyone has it on their devices. You have no clue what it really js, you just think it poses no security risk but I could. Stay tuned for the next episode of Apple Unsolved Mysteries.

Whether you ever use those keyboards in irrelevant I think. They work differently than most and have data that gets backed up. In any case the answer you got from zinacef is the best there is.
