Upgrade modem

You can upgrade the hard drive and RAM, but not the modem or logic board. Those can be replaced if there is a problem, but Apple will no longer work on or have parts for a 2009, so you'd need to take it to an authorized service provider if they can get some parts. FWIW, I would not spend money (logic boards are expensive) on such an outdated machine.
