I got a new iPod and haven't been able to download my music. Not sure why. Using MacOS (11.01)

music how do i get the music from my itunes account to be downloaded to my ipod nano. It comes up with and error and tells me to go to imusic, but i do not see and ipod nano on my list and can not add it.

I just bout a an ipod touch 7th generation and when I'm trying to update and sync it nothing happens. It recognizes it but doesn't download my music. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Why won't my music download?
