How much would an iPad (2nd generation) be worth in a trade-in?

I have an iPad (2nd gen) with 16GB. It is engraved on the back. The screen is in perfect condition and the back has very minimal wear. How much would it be worth in a trade-in?

iPad 2, iOS 9

It's worth very little, if anything, due to its age.

You can go here https://www.apple.com/shop/trade-in

  • Scroll down to the section labeled Select your device to get a trade-in estimate

Provide the information requested and you'll either get an estimate or an offer to recycle it for you.

A: the ipad second gen was made in 2011. its old and is useless in 2020. it cant even run youtube app and it struggles with day to day tasks. yours is also engraved. i doubt anybody would want it so its useless to Apple. Apple will take it for free and recycle it for you. its not worth anything

It won’t be worth any cash and is only good for recycling. Note used reseller like Apple’s trade in partners or places like Gazelle won’t even take in devices that old other than for free to recycle them. They have no market value to the companies buying used devices.

About the oldest device you can get cash for is a fourth gen iPad, and the value of those will be very low (less than $40 unless in truly pristine condition and even then only about $50).
