I'd like to come in to the store to purchase an Apple Watch one of our children. How do I go about making an appointment for purchase? There are no appointments available right now.

You have found the appointments system because you know there are non available. With a little luck you should still have time to order over internet for delivery to your home. https://www.apple.com/watch/
