Apple TV 4K

I’m having several issues with my brand new Apple TV 4K. On the Home Screen, I can hear the icon and button sounds but no audio on the background tv show trailers. Also it randomly plays music from my playlist. Lastly using the HomeKit it will only occasionally turn on the TCL tv I have and other times it says device not responding. This is totally unacceptable considering the amount of money spent on this set up. Please help.

1/ When you actively select such a video trailer for viewing not-as-background, it will have sound. There are a few settings that may have some influence on your experience for this feature. Settings﹥Apps﹥TV﹥Autoplay video sound﹥On|Off, and Settings﹥Accessibility﹥Motion﹥Auto-Play Video Previews﹥On|Off.

2/ Turning on a connected TV is not a HomeKit feature, but a HDMI-CEC feature. HDMI-CEC has to be turned on on both devices for this to work. Control your TV or receiver with your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote - Apple Support. The Home app on an iOS device can turn on the Apple TV box through HomeKit, and from there turn on the TV through HDMI-CEC. Not sure how useful HomeKit is for this, as you will want to use the remote to operate the device, and the remote seems like a much better way to activate your devices.
