Trying to connect a 4K TV monitor to the hdmi output on Radeon 580 MPX

I am trying to connect a 4K TV monitor to the hdmi output but it works for 15 seconds then the screen goes green. I've changed cables... the TV monitor continues to show up in display preferences but stays green until I un plug and plug in again. Thunderbolt connections are the same - even if daisy chaining off A tbolt hard drive. I thought it might be an hdcp issue? Does anyone know? Driving me mad as.....

The cables you want for HDMI-only Monitors (higher resolutions than HD TV sets) are marked as Certified with an anti-counterfeiting tag and are labeled:

"Premium High Speed HDMI cable" or that + "with Ethernet"  --OR--

"Ultra High Speed HDMI cable" or that + "48G"

Cables with No Certification tags are good for your standard TV set, and not much more.
