I just bought an Macbook air. It has two Thunderbolt 3 ports. I also need a port for my external monitor. The only splitters I see on Amazon have Far too many options. Does another option exist. That is, I only need to connect three devices to my Macbook, a charger, and external hard drive and a second monitor. Thanks.

OWC will soon have a Thunderbolt Hub available that will
add additional Thunderbolt ports. The only caveats are
that the host must have a Thunderbolt 3 port available
and must be running macOS Big Sur (11.x)

BTW, BB doesn't carry any OWC products and at least the
BBs around me only carry cheapo stuff in stock an half the
stuff or more needs to be ordered online.
Also, keep in mind tat a lot of places advertise "Thunderbolt Hubs"
but in reality they are the general purpose docks with just a single
TB passthrough. Also, some will list USB-C docks as Thunderbolt
or Thunderbolt compatible when in fact they are USB only based
devices.

Nice, thanks for sharing. Wish they’d have enabled higher USB PD, 60 W won’t work well with Macs over 13” (which is all theee of my Mac notebooks).

Simplest is Apple’s Multiport Adapter, you connect an HDMI cable for the display, a USB-A hard drive, and your charger.

If that doesn’t have the right ports, you’ll need to specify what ports you need.
