iPhone 12 Pro migration

While utilizing the iPhone transfer / migration option - after scanning the icon in the middle of the screen an Apple account which I have never been associated with shows up and prompted me for the password. Why didn’t my Apple account appear? Is this not a brand new iPhone? Could this be a refurbished one even though I ordered a brand new unlocked phone directly from Apple? How many other people does this happen to ... as I’m sure I’m not the only one. How can I validate this information and find out where this account was pulled from? Was I hacked at some point????
