I am running Catalina 10.15.7 and Photoshop 2021 on my Mac. When I click on the PS icon to launch it goes through a long "verifying" message and then takes 15 minutes to open. This started when PS was updated to 2021.
Right-click on the Photoshop 2021 application icon, and choose just Open. That should run a verification of the application because it is not from the Mac App Store. Quit the application after it launches. Subsequent launches of Photoshop 2021 should not bother you with the verification progress bar.
