Direct upload from FCPX to YouTube is gone???

With the 10.5.1 update on Dec14-20 Apple has combined YouTube and Facebook encoding into one Share preset. As a result, they took away the ability to automatically upload to either service. This is now a 2 step process; create the file and then upload the file. Maybe there's a third-party solution in the form of a Watch Folder (similar to frame.io or Google Drive) that will automatically upload to either of those services?

The video was always saved to your drive in full, then the application would upload and delete it behind the scenes. It is now a two step process but really who doesn’t check the output video before releasing it to the internet... I never would have published a video that way.

In 10.5.1, it looks like the Facebook and YouTube Destinations have been unified:

You might have to talk to Google about that.

I cannot believe they got rid of the direct upload. So now we have to save the big video file to our computer, suck up memory, wait forever for it to save, then upload it to youtube. If this is Apples doing I am very dissapointed, if this is Googles doing then I'm not surprised as this is par for the course. I wonder if Premier Pro is affected too?

Part of this may be because Facebook does not allow direct uploads to their system.

I'm extremely disappointed too. In the release notes, they made it sound like there was an improvement to uploading to YouTube.

Useless. I used to upload to YT and check the video on YT beofre sharing it with anyone. Quicker and easier than this goofy arrangement and no file to delete afterward.

I just used Time Machine to go grab version 10.5 and I now have 2 FCPs in my Dock, but I'll be using the old version until they sort this out. I have dozens of destinations that are for client accounts in YT and Vimeo, so this matters to me!
