Apple Car Play not working with select button

Assistive Touch is the problem.

I see many posts saying to reset to factory.

you don’t have to. The problem is with coding for communication with Apple CarPlay at least on Mazda 2019 (maybe other years) but I noticed a black dot highlighting in the top left corner of my iPhone 8 when trying to select an item on the CarPlay display.

you cannot calibrate an iPhone screen. So I looked to shut off assistive touch and that fixed the problem. So I lose one feature on my iPhone screen but now the controller on the car works properly.

I hope this helps others not pull their hair out.
