Ringer alert over Bluetooth speakers

Hi. I am hearing disabled and need speakers to play alert tones from my iPhone 12 pro in order to hear better. I can’t seem to get this work if it does work. Suggestions please

Hi! Would the HomePod mini play the alerts. I have been told yes and no from 2 apple support techs. I just got one and doesn’t seem to do that. I thought if any would work it would be apple product. It’s frustrating as it’s really important for me as I have a hearing disability. Thank you for the reply!

Mosiarty,

Since HomePod uses AirPlay, it would just play media audio from the iPhone, not alerts or ringtone notifications: Use AirPlay to stream audio

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We understand wanting to be able to play ringtones through your headphones. We'll do what we can to help.

The Bluetooth speaker would have to support the profile for playing phone/alert sounds through their system. Otherwise, it will play through the iPhone speakers like you're experiencing: Bluetooth profiles that iOS and iPadOS support

We'd suggest checking with the manufacturer of your speakers to see if they allow for things like phone calls to taken through them.
