Setting up a new iPhone

When setting up a new iPhone if you transfer data between the old and new devices do you still get to keep all your pictures, messages, voicemails, etc without having it all in iCloud backup?

You do a backup using computer iTunes with your old iPhone, then restore from backup with the new iPhone.
