Dropped my charger, now my MacBook Pro 13" (Late 2012) is not charging, but the green/red light on the charger is working. What do to?

Hello,

Last night I dropped my charger on tile floor and today my MacBook Pro 13" Late 2012 won't start charging. The battery stayed on 1% for a long time, then changed to 2-5% but that's it. The green/red light on the charger is working but I think it is staying on green longer when connected than before but eventually changes to red. Any suggestions what it might be? I have not been able to get another charger yet to try if it work. Thank you in advance!

Please read follow all the instructions in If your Mac battery status is "Not Charging" including all the links at the bottom, followed by If your Mac battery won’t charge.

You can buy a replacement power adapter from Apple: Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter (for MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro)

The 85W variety is the same price, just bulkier, and it works exactly the same: Apple 85W MagSafe Power Adapter (for 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro)

OWC sells genuine Apple power adapters at a generous discount: Apple 85W MagSafe Power Adapter For MacBook Pro 13-, 15- & 17-inch Models (non-Retina).

I do not recommend any other vendor, because counterfeit power adapters are very common and potentially lethal. For example if you buy one from Amaozon it's almost certainly counterfeit.
