I have all the current updates, and I keep getting a “pairing cancelled” error message. It is keeping me from using fitness+. Has anyone else who’s experienced this found a way to connect? Using Apple TV 4k with series 5 Apple Watch.

Apple doesn't tell you this but you'll need to enable Two-factor authentication on your Apple ID account. Otherwise the TV and Watch won't be able to communicate.
same issue, Apple TV 4K and series 5 Apple Watch.. "pairing cancelled" error as well. My wife's watch works great, and she is on the shared Apple One account...
