Amazon Music on Ipad IOS - 10.3.3

Amazon music was working fine on my ipad up until yesterday when it suddenly stopped working so I deleted the app and tried to download it again. It asks me if I want to download the last compatible version I say yes. The download clock goes all the way round and then pauses for a while and says 'unable to download at this time'

I have restarted the ipad a number of times' without success.

Any help would be appreciated. My Son has Special needs and music is the something that he absolutely loves his favourite passtime.

Thanks

Amazon Music requires iOS12 or later - and although an “older” version of the App may be available for download, it will be for 64-bit CPU architecture devices.

If your iPad is currently running, or cannot be updated beyond iOS 10.3.3/4, then have an iPad4.

Update support for iPad4 ended September 2017. The final iOS releases for this model were iOS 10.3.3 (WiFi Only models) and iOS 10.3.4 (WiFi & Cellular). iPad4 cannot be updated to any later major version of iOS as it lacks the minimum hardware requirements needed to run more recent versions. The 32-bit platform upon which the iPad4 is based is obsolete; it cannot run a 64-bit Operating System or Apps.

All 32-bit versions of Apps have apparently been withdrawn from the App Store. Many App Developers have also dropped support for older devices with iOS versions preceding iOS11/12/13 - and have withdrawn older versions of their Apps from the Apple App Store. Withdrawal of Apps supporting older models of iPad is making their utility and usefulness significantly more limited. Once compatible versions Apps are withdrawn, you’ll not be able (re)download or (re)install them.

If Apps that you need to use now have higher minimum iOS-version requirements, your only option is to replace your iPad with newer model. Of current models, even the entry-level iPad8 supports current iPadOS 14 - and has hardware specifications and capabilities that vastly outperform your old iPad4.

I hope this information is helpful - if only in clearly stating the limitations of your iPad4 and your available options.

If you wish to salvage that old iPad model and retain all the rest of older apps from that old iPad model and for future iOS devices, I strongly recommend you look into a Mac/PC app called

iMazing.

https://imazing.com/

iMazing does everything that older versions of iTunes uaed to do before Apple took all that iOS devixe functinality away, such as being able to save full apps on your home computer drives for all of your iOS devices and to be able to reload those apps onto your new or older devices any time, for any reason.

I am afraid to inform you that the Amazon Music app has a newer, minimum iOS version, now of iOS 12 and later.

The app is no longer compatible with your over 8-year old, 2012 iPad 4th generation.

Here is what has happened.

Virtually, all third party iOS app developers ended/stopped/abandoned supporting these old 8-10 year old iPads over two years, ago.

Third party iOS App developers simply do not want to continue to support 8-10 year iOS devices, any longer, and have permanently removed ALL older version apps from the iOS App Store.

There are virtually, NO MORE older iOS 9 or 10 compatible apps available from the Apple iOS App Store, any longer.

There is NO LONGER ANY WAY to retrieve or initially download older compatible apps from Apple’s iOS App Store.

Simply put, your 4th gen iPad is too old and obsolete now. and has been so for the past two years.

Sorry.

If you need/want an iPad with an up to date iPadOS with access to current, updated apps, then you really need to seriously consider a new iPad model OR a much “newer” , used iPad model capable of running the latest iPadOS versions.

There are plenty of newer, older iPad models that can run the latest, current versions of iPadOS.

Sorry & Best of Luck to You!
