My new iPad 11 pro is locked in portrait mode. How do I find the orient icon to unlock it. It doesn’t appear when I swipe the screen. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks. I finally had a lucky swipe and found the control panel! It has been harder than I thought getting used to the quirks of the new iPad but I think I will actually love it.
