Compatibility of MacOS 11.1

I have a Late 2013 Retina 13" MacBook Pro, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. MacOS 11.0.1 had blocked this model of MacBook Pro from installing the new OS. So, I did not install MacOS 11 or 11.0.1.

Yesterday MacOS11.1 was released and MY MavBook has a message to install this update. I am being pestered to install update.

BUT, I am concerned whether the new update is compatible with my MacBook Pro. I cannot find any information.

HELP!

Apple had previously taken your MacBook off the list of updates because of an issue with 11.01 with older Macs. Apparently Apple has fixed that issue, and has now added older MacBooks back on the update list. Having said that I would NOT update unless you have a full backup of your computer, just in case something happens. You should be backing up your MacBook regularly anyways. Also, once you update to 11.1 you will not be able to backup your computer with CCC or SuperDuper, so keep that in mind. this will eventually get fixed, but it is currently an issue with Big Sur.

If this is your only computer, I would wait a week or two to see how other older MacBooks react to 11.1 before updating your own. You should be able to turn the update reminder off in settings.
