Set time zone automatically for Indian Standard time

Just click once on India in the map so the Time Zone moves from GMT to India,

then type Coimbatore in the closest city field.

When you move the GMT Time Zone to India it should move to India Standard Time,

remember to uncheck the Set time Zone automatically.

Also open System Preferences> Date & Time> Date & Time and make sure the

Set date and time automatically is checked and set to use Apple Asia time.

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. From our understanding, you are not able to set your time zone to GMT+5, do we have that right? What do you see if you deselect "Set time zone automatically using current location"? Also, is your region set to India in System Preferences > Language & Region?

You can try the steps here If the date or time is wrong on your Mac.

From the screenshot above you have not moved the Time Zone to India it is still showing the Time Zone for GMT.

Just typing in Chennai or any other Indian city will not move the Time Zone to India.

Click and drag the highlighted Time Zone over to India. This should have been obvious from the screenshots

and text I have given you. Once you have moved the Time Zone over then you can type in the city where you are.

First screenshot below shows Time Zone for GMT.

Now click on the GMT Time Zone and move it over to India,

Now type in Coimbatore

Easy.

Ok so you have managed to get Maldives Time and Bangladesh Standard Time

which are either side of India Standard Time just be more careful with where you place the Time Zone,

I have shown you it is possible, so why can't you.

I have told you more than once how to do this, now I am out.

No I said to click on India first so the Time Zone moves away from GMT to India,

then type in Coimbatore.

Can you not show a screenshot of you having moved the Time Zone to India

as I have shown you.
