My M1 macbook pro battery died and will not charge

Okay, my M1 MacBook Pro 13” battery died without warning. I didn’t have it connected to a power supply.

Now it refuses to charge. I have it connected to apple’s power supply and cable.

many idea?

I finally figured out what was wrong. It turns out that the prongs were not making a firm enough contact with any of the sockets in my house and my professional Tripp Lite 12 Outlet Bench & Cabinet Power Strip. I used an Anker charger and it worked. Then I removed the flip style socket adapter in the power supply and used a corded one from another apple power supply and that worked perfectly.


The older MagSafe power supplies had much better feedback: a light would come on and tell you if the was some voltage in the system.
