I formatted a hard drive under macOS Catalina. I copied many files to hard drive under Catalina. When I attached this hard drive to my Windows PC, these files are visible. I updated my MacBook Pro to macOS Big Sur. When I copy files to my hard drive under Big Sur, the Windows PC not visible the new files.

Thanks you for posting in Apple Support Communities! From our understanding, after updating to macOS Big Sur, the files you add to your external hard drive from your Mac are not visible on your Windows PC, do we have that right? Do you still see the old files? Are these files using the same format as the new files? If the folder exists but is hidden under Windows, maybe the Hidden attribute was somehow set.

Yes, I see the old files in Windows, but the directory of the new files is invisible. I can open the "invisible" directories with this command: cd DIRECTORY_NAME. When I go to the new directory of the new files, the files are visible. The new directory has not hidden attribute, but the directory is invisible. The file system is ExFat, because I'd like to write to my HDD under Windows and under macOS too.
