Emergency macOS Upgrade

I allowed my macOs to get old. Now I have to update it. Need to upgrade from v10.12.6 “Sierra” to v10.13.6 “High Sierra”. On0line instructions are always inconsistent with what I see on my screen. I download SecUpd2020-005HighSierra.dmg to ~/Downloads. Can I update from that? What is best?

upgrade issue I see someone else is trying to update from 10.12.6 to the macOS 10.13. The recommendation from apple was to go to macOS High Sierra and download it etc. I tried this also, and it says 'this copy is damaged....'. This is the same response the previous user stated. Nobody from apple got back. Can you please advise how to upgrade?

how can i update macOS Sierra 10.12.6 to 10.13 or ? I have a MacBook air early 2015 and I need to update the OS. Can someone please help me I'm new to this?

Is there an updated link to download MacOS 13 High Sierra from the updates server? The link to download it on the "How to get old versions of MacOS" doesn't work. I need to download the MacOS 10.13 "High Sierra" installer in order to access an older Time Machine backup. The link for it on the "How to get old versions of macOS" support page doesn't work. The link for Sierra does work. I'm pretty sure they have moved High Sierra to the same update server but haven't updated the link. Can anyone respond with the correct link? Thanks

No, that's a security update. Before you can use that you will need to have High Sierra installed.

Search the App Store.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download High Sierra through the link provided.

Terence: It won't show up in a search. Getting it requires a direct link.
