I have 2 users on my laptop and for one key long press working and showing special characters, but for 2nd one key long press just entering key character multiple times.
Does any one know how to fix this?
Found an official instruction "Enter characters with accent marks on Mac" https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/enter-characters-with-accent-marks-on-mac-mh27474/11.0/mac/11.0
and exactly this "press and hold a key" is not working for one of the users.
In the user account that is having the problem run the following command in the Terminal app:
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true
followed by the Return or Enter key.
Have that user reboot afterward to activate.
