In the old iTunes, I used to updated the music on my phone just by connecting it to the computer that had the 'Master' and selecting 'Sync'. When I connect my iPhone to the new 'Mini' nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? is that procedure still supported?? or how do I do it now??

Since Catalina and Big Sur, the procedure has changed a bit: you have to look in Finder, not iTunes. See the new procedure in here:
