Apple Fitness+ disconnecting from device

For the second day in a row this has happened. Both days it happened on the 2nd workout selected. First workout was fine, connected to the watch, status updated all in real time. During the 2nd workout immediately after, it started fine and was updating the stats but about halfway through the workout the stats onscreen on the Apple TV stopped updating even though the workout was still going, both on the watch (with accurate stats) and the Apple TV with progressing workout, but not the up to date stats from the Apple Watch. A few minutes later an error message popped up saying the connection to the device was lost and the workout stopped. You can't pick up or continue a workout where you left off. Has anyone else had this problem?

I also have seen that it could be an AirPods issue. I had found a way around the disconnect problem ending the workout by doing the following:

1)When the stats stop updating on the Apple TV, pause the workout on the TV and then pause the workout on the watch

2)Go to settings on the watch and turn Bluetooth off. Wait a few seconds and then turn bluetooth on.

3)Go to the workout on the watch and resume.

4)Resume the workout on the TV.

After a few seconds all of the stats from the watch and TV will be back in sync and it doesn't disconnect

However, on a longer workout I had this happen 3 times so it was annoying to constantly do this, especially at high intensity. So, I disconnected my AirPods from the Apple TV they were connected to and just put them back in the case. No more problems then. Don't know if this is a red herring, but it definitely does seem to be an AirPods/Dual Bluetooth connection conflict.

I have done 2 workouts that both had issues.

1) Apple TV HD - 4th Gen

2) Apple Watch series 6

3) AirPods Pro connected to Apple TV

On the first workout I noticed that I was unable to control the video from the watch and often the heart rate/calories did not update on the TV.

The second workout the watch randomly disconnected from the TV and halted the workout.

I've experience the same problem. About half of my workouts get interrupted this way. It's very frustrating to say the least.

Apple, the UI around this disconnections is terrible and way below your standard. At minimum, you should:

1) Allow workouts to continue where they were interrupted. Right now, you must start again from the beginning.

2) Allow fast-forwarding of the workout video using the AppleTV remote. Why isn't this supported?

You have a killer product here, just get the fine tuning patch done ASAP!

Thx!

I don't use AirPods--just speakers on my stereo system directly connected from Apple TV to HDMI. Watch is consistently lost during workouts to the point that they're barely even do-able. Plus, I'm in a small room. My watch is no more than 5 feet from the Apple TV box MAX.

Apple, PLEASE add the ability to resume an interrupted workout OR to continue the current workout without stats from the watch rather than just the abrupt end OR add the ability to fast forward/rewind workouts OR even better FIX THE ISSUE WITH BLUETOOTH SO IT WORKS PROPERLY.

Completed many workouts on ATV with AW SE. No problems until working out today when the metrics seemed to stop on the ATV and I received an error message - device disconnected. Seemed that the image quality was worsening prior to disconnection as if my broad ands was slowing momentarily. Could be the cause of the disconnection? I wasn’t using AirPods for this workout. Very frustrating that you can’t restart a workout from the point of disconnection or forward to that point once restarting. Clearly a glitch in the software and a shortcoming in the interface on ATV. Hopefully addressed through an update soon.

Absolutely terrible, and I'm really glad I'm on a free trial. Over 50% of the time this happens. I have nothing else linked to my Apple TV, I'm like 2-3 feet MAX from the Apple TV (I'm literally standing too close to the TV because of this), no AirPods, and I'm getting this pretty consistently. I don't understand why it has to stop the workout. Why can't it just continue the workout and I just don't get the on screen stats? I mean my watch workout can still continue, it just drops the stats from the screen. Super frustrating.

Same issue here. Apple TV with Apple Watch 6 and AirPods Pro connected. Can make it about 20 minutes into a work out and then connection is gone. I do notice the stats on the tv go out of sync well before the connection lost notice pops up. Very frustrating to have to restart a workout instead of being able to pick up where you left off. Apple please release a fix ASAP or I will not be renewing my subscription.

I haven't been able to get through a single workout yet without disconnecting several times, then eventually the workout ends because it stayed disconnected too long. I'm 5 feet away from the Apple TV 4K, with a Watch 4, all on latest iOS. Have cycled devices. No other bluetooth connection aside from my phone. Thoroughly frustrated, and am rethinking my subscription.

As I mentioned above, I am updating my post. Today I did a 30 minute treadmill workout with the A1842 Apple TV, Air Pods Pro and Apple Watch 3. I completed the whole workout without it aborting. I did notice both today and yesterday that when doing the warmup and holding the handrails that the workout would pause. I guess this is because it thinks I stopped because my arms aren't moving. I understand that, but it seems that it reacts awfully quickly to think it should pause the workout. I also noticed yesterday and today that the heart rate on screen was not updating regularly.

Seems that there are quite a few bugs Apple needs to correct.
