All of a sudden my YouTube app from my iMovie is just gone! I use this method to upload movies to YouTube all the time and now the app inside iMovie is gone. What can I do?
This feature was also removed from Final Cut Pro as well. Just export your iMovie Project to a folder in Finder and upload using YouTube Studio https://studio.youtube.com. It's always good to keep an uncompressed copy of a video on your computer, if you have to download your videos [from YouTube] to edit and reupload parts, they will always look worse as now those sections will have been compressed twice. Also, in the future, iMovie versions may change drastically, and reexporting your project made in an older version of iMovie might be glitchy. I hope this helps. If you don't have enough storage on your computer, try using or purchasing an external drive to save export your Movies too. However I warn you, do no save iMovie Projects to cloud storage providers other than Apple, because it may mess with the file, as the iMovie project is recognised as a folder by other OSes.
That may be a workaround for uploading 4K but it still doesn’t solve the problem that there is no direct upload button on iMovie to YouTube anymore
Can videos actually be fully edited in YT editor...like trimmed, transitions, etc??
Just use LumaFusion. iMovie on iPhone /iPad is crap anyway. Uploading from YouTube studio is not very convenient either . Best and the most convenient way is LumaFusion.

im trying to upload my video from iMovie to YouTube but there is no YouTube icon. This is so frustrating.
I imported video to photos but still no YouTube icon. I can’t find the icon at all. Obviously it’s on my iPad.
I just don’t know what todo, I’ve tried everything.
lit used to be so easy. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

My experience is that it doesn‘t matter what resolution a video has on your camera roll. When uploaded through the YouTube app it always ends up as 1080p.

I had a support ticket for this issue and the Apple guy said that it‘s YouTube who doesn‘t offer this direct upload option for iMovie anymore. Everyone who has the time should annoy the **** out of both Apple and Google/YouTube so that they notice that people care about this feature and do something about it. The more the better!
Please let me know if anyone is able to find an alternative app or option to upload large videos. The imovie allowed me to create the video and then upload it directly into Youtube. Now, any other option, my file is too large or I do not have enough memory. Very frustrating. Thank you in advance for any advice.
Only problem with that option is that if you have a iPhone that uploads in HDR (4K) when you save to your camera roll, it doesn’t keep that quality, it reduces it to 1080... so it’s like, what’s the point being able to film in such high quality when you literally can’t post it anywhere.
