A solution to "This monitor does not support HDR playback" error

I encountered this error when trying to play a video purchased on tv. Several solutions have been posted already like trying a software update or a different cable, but none of these worked for me. Did a software update, but still no change. I have a MacBook Pro 2018, and I'm currently running Big Sur version 11.0.1. At first I thought it was something wrong with my HDMI to USB C cable, so I tried switching to a different cable, which didn't work. I also tried adjusting the display settings, but this didn't work either. Then I accidentally stumbled across a strange fix. The issue was with the Movies tab, but when I switched to using the Watch Now tab to play the video, it played fine. Not saying it will work for you, but it's worth a shot. Good luck!
