Bug causing FontBook to incorrectly display an installation failure error pop-up when multiple font files are selected

A bug in FontBook causes the app to incorrectly show an installation failure pop-up window when multiple font files are selected. This issue wasn't observed on previous macOSes.

The install failure notice is followed by this message:

"Some unsigned or inactive fonts were found. Make sure if duplicates from the same filename are already present."

Mac mini, macOS 10.15

I've tried installing the fonts several times with no luck. I don't opt restoring back to defaults.

Bear in mind that the bug is not present on previous MacOSes.

I was prompted to check if the files do not contain the same file name.

Most importantly the font files must be valid.

The glitch usually occurs if multiple files and folders are selected.

Hey there!

Did you happen to restore the Fonts to defaults and try again?:

In the Font Book app  on your Mac, choose File > Restore Standard Fonts.

I’m not sure if this is now expected to be, but if not I’d give that a try if you haven’t yet. Cheers.
