M1 Mac synced with iPhone/iPad

iPhone/iPad connected to M1 Mac mini, iPhone/iPad apps cannot be used and installed from app store, I tried re-install iPhone/iPad OS, reset all, it does not work. iPhone/iPad cannot install apps from App Store even the Apple store/Apple support app. and app installed on iPhone/iPad cannot be used. This happens when iPhone/iPad connected to M1 Mac, then click "get started" on "Mac finder-locations-iPhone/iPad interface".

Confirmed here as well. Big Sur 11.2.1 and iOS 14.4 / iPadOS 14.4 are working properly for me on my M1 MBP, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPad Air 2 respectively. Rebooted both devices, and tried relaunching several apps after the sync. All appears to be working properly.

Have not tried my iPad Pro or the iPhone 6 yet, but I assume they will also work. I'll post here if they do not.

I also noticed my M1 MBP is now showing properly on www.icloud.com as well as under appleid.apple.com (it was previously missing from iCloud.com).

Not sure if the fix was the Big Sur update to 11.2.1 (it's not mentioned in the release notes) or something on Apple's back-end related to my Apple ID, but either way, it's working!

That is so frustrating! I'm having the same issues with the devices of a good friend. When I called Apple Support last week, the lady said, the problem is completely new to her and that she hasn't found anything in the database.

Therefore I hope, that the communities effort and publications on 9to5mac help solving the problem. I will stay tuned and already say thank you to everyone on touch with Apple Support.

bdbst2, if your device is currently not working properly (apps crashing) you may need to erase your device and restore a backup to get all the apps working again. Once the phone is working, you should (hopefully) be able to sync your device with Big Sur 11.2.1 and the apps should no longer crash.

It sounds like 11.2.1 fixes the issue that was causing the apps to crash, but it might not retroactively correct a device that is already broken without erasing the device and starting from a good backup.

I also don't have official confirmation that 11.2.1 is supposed to fix it yet from my advisor, so it's possible there may be a few scenarios where it will still break. But it seems to have resolved the issue for most people from the various threads I'm following here and on other sites.

Yeah, deeply disappointed. Just deactivated a Windows computer for a Mac mini. Hooked up My iPhone12 Pro and does nothing but charge. No sync, no nothing. This is a critical mistake for a rollout of this type. What was worse is that the last version of iTunes trashed all my Gracenote photos. Noticing that Apple S/W, which was once the lynchpin for the iPhones, iPads, iTunes and Macs are being shipped with obvious bugs.
