iMovie for High Sierra

imovie shows up in my Apps as being purchased on April23 2013. Selected install and drop says " download older version of iMovie" which I select however after multiple tries the dropdown keeps sending

the same message "iMovie failed to download Use purchase page to try again"

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13

Before signing in to the app store and going to your purchases, you need first to drag your iMovie app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the trash. Then see if you can update from your purchases. You won't be able to get the most current iMovie version because that requires Big Sur. But it should give you the highest iMovie version that High Sierra can run. If no luck, then drag your iMovie app out of the trash and place it back in the applications folder.
