Why Apple pencil Gen 2 doesn't support newer versions of Ipads?
The second generation Apple Pencil is supported by the new fourth generation iPad Air - and the 2018/2020 models of iPad Pro. These models support inductive charging of the Pencil.
All other models of iPad that support Apple Pencil - all with a Lightning connector with which to pair and charge the Pencil - require a first generation Apple Pencil.

Not sure which iPad you have? Identify your iPad model.
Because it is supported by the 1st generation.
There are not many differences between the generations of pencil, both are still sold.
The main difference is how they are charged -
1st generation is charged via the lightning port.
2nd generation is charged via the magnetic strip on USBC models.
Hence why the 8th gen iPad supports 1st gen as it has a lightning port
iPad8 has a Lightning Port - and does not incorporate the inductive charging components required to support the second generation Pencil. The inductive charging components are only built-in to iPad Air4 and 2018/2020 models of iPad Pro.
The generation 2 supports new version of iPad.
Which iPad are you referring to?
