I have a Macbook Pro Mid 2012 and when holding down 'Opt D' on start up I get these error messages. I recently had to have the OS reinstalled via Apple is it was deleted during a hard drive partition error. So basically had to wipe the mac. I'm trying to reinstall a back up, and the MacBook keeps restarting and crashing. I've used both recovery mode and migration assistant, but it can't complete the reinstall even when only basic user data is being copied. Does anyone have any experience with this? I had to go back to OS X Mountain Lion.

It doesn't appear that anything is wrong with the hard drive as I changed this and was still encountering the same problem. Is it possible that it's the RAM?

That appears to be a memory issue.

First thing would be to make sure both memory modules are properly seated. Sometimes the memory latches on either side can pop loose. You can also reseat both memory modules. Sometimes inserting the second model nearest the bottom case will cause the first memory module nearest the Keyboard to pop loose. I like to use a non-conductive item such as a nylon stick or a toothpick to press on the edge of the memory module nearest the Keyboard to make sure it is latched. You just need to be careful not to damage any of the extremely small surface mount components on the memory module.

Many times the memory slot nearest the Bottom Case fails due to cracked solder joints caused by the bottom case pressing against the memory slot after years of use. If you press on the center of the bottom case and the solder joints are cracked, then the laptop will freeze up possibly getting lines on the screen or maybe even a Kernel Panic. You may want to test the system with this slot empty.

Otherwise you will need to test each memory module by itself and you need to each memory slot individually to figure out if the issue is a bad memory module or slot.

If you are using third party RAM, then it may not be compatible. Macs are very picky about the memory they use so either use the Apple original RAM or memory from Crucial or OWC that is made for a Mac.

Edit: Just make sure to disconnect both the charger and battery before removing or inserting memory or other internal components.
