Videos have white faded thumbnail in Photos, show in iCloud, taken on iPhone several days ago

I took video several days ago on my iphone. They show in iCloud, but on my mac in photos they show with a washed out faded thumbnail. They play if I click on them but would like to see a useful thumbnail on MacBook Air. What is going on?

My system on my Macbook Air was out of date. I updated to Big Sur and now all new videos coming in have thumbnails, it did not correct the ones that have the faded thumbnail, but I'm set going forward.
