Gift Return
I received the new 2020 ipad as a gift but it is only 32 GB so I was wondering if there is any way to return it and get the 128GB option and just pay the difference. Since it is a gift I don't have a receipt.

Since it was a gift, and if purchased from Apple and not a reseller, either the person who gave it to you can return it within 14 days, or they can ask the store for a gift receipt so you can do it. Note you don’t the credit since you did not pay for it. The buyer gets the credit. So if you want to effectively exchange it, you will need the buyer to come with you and handle the return and purchase of an alternate device.
Apple has an unconditional 14 day return policy for full refund. Other sellers will have their own policy.
