Backing up to iCloud

I’ve tried to read the documents and read the posts re: backup and iCloud. Things just aren’t coming together very quickly - sorry (and hence the username). Some questions:

If I delete a backup and it remains for 180 days, does that count against my iCloud storage limit ?

Say that I make 2 backups.

Does backup #2 completely over write #1; or is #1 updated with only the new data in #2; or do both backups remain on iCloud?

I backed up my ‘contacts’ info - where is that located?

How can I get the files in my iCloud Notes folder to appear in alphabetical order ?

Much appreciated.

If you delete a backup, it doesn’t remain but is deleted.

Yes, newer backups overwrite older ones.

If using iCloud, then it’s not considered a part of the backup as it’s already stored in iCloud. If not, it’s stored on your device.

Notes can only be sorted by Date Edited, Date Created, and Title.
