iMovie audio

I would like to know if there is a way to copy the audio of my iMovie and paste it to a different clip. I have version 10.1 on iMac High Sierra 10.3. I have imported some old home video and the sound does not follow the video on some of the clips.

You can select the video clip in the timeline and do a File/Detach Audio. That will detach the embedded audio and create a separate audio clip in the audio well below the video clip.

Another way would be to share out to your desktop as an Audio Only file the iMovie project that contains the clip. Then you can import the audio clip back into your original project and mute the embedded audio so that you can substitute the shared audio clip in place of the embedded audio.
