bought air pod from someone else

i bought air pods from someone but i didn't check if they disconnected them from their phone as i wasn't aware of this feature at the time I'm concerned the can see where i am

They would have had to have been reset in order to connect to your iPhone but you can do it again if you wish by putting them in their case, leaving the lid open and hold in the button on the back of the case until the light blinks white. You will have to connect them again after that. And Bluetooth is used to find them so the range is about 40 feet.
