locked out of notes

I recently switched from and iPhone 8 with Touch ID to a iPhone 12. I use my notes a lot for school and work and since some notes had confidential information I had them locked and I only used Touch ID to open them. Since switching to the 12 I tried to open my locked notes but I can’t get in since there no more Touch ID so I have to use the password I set 5 years ago and have no idea what the password was. I tried everything. And I tried changing the password but it only changes it for new notes and not old notes from before. I really need to unlock these notes but I tried everything to get in and nothing works. Please help. Is there anyway to change the password for old notes?
