iphone volume for hard-of-hearing

My iphone SE iOS 14.2 periodically turns the volume right down unasked, and sends me a message saying that if I listen at that volume I will damage my hearing. I find this very irritating and patronizing. I I am already hard-of-hearing (due to old age and NOT to listening to loud devices). This "helpful" feature sometimes jumps into action while I am listening to something interesting, causing me to miss it while I counter Apple's underhand move. I suppose Apple is worried about being sued in the US for damage to hearing. My audiologist assures me that the way I would like to use my iPhone poses no damage to my hearing, but Apple insists that my iPhone knows better. Is there any way of turning off this irritating feature?
