I have created a backup of my old iPhone on my laptop last month. Now my old iPhone no longer works. I tried to restore the backup to my new iPhone. But almost at the end of the backup process, the following error pops up ‘iTunes could not restore the iPhone because the backup was corrupt.’ Please let me know what I can do to restore the backup.

I have already gone through that link. It is not useful. Backup was successfully created. How can it become corrupt? I don't have my old iPhone functioning. So I can not take another backup.
