Running 10.15..7 and trying to initiate a backup NOW and the option is not available under Time Machine in System Prefs. No such option exists that I can find.

Go to Sys Preferences, and go to Time Machine. Select the checkbox 'Show Time Machine in menu bar' if it is not selected already. Then go to the menu bar at the top and click the Time Machine Icon - select the 'Back Up Now' option.

That’s not in the preferences. It’s in the time machine status menu on the top right of the menu bar.
