Can I locate and download an older version of GarageBand?

I have an early 2009 iMac running OSX 10.11.6 and would like to update GarageBand. Is it possible to download GarageBand '10 and if so, where can I find it?

iMac, OS X 10.11

In theory yes: GarageBand 10.2.0 is the latest compatible version and should be available via your App Store account. GarageBand 6.0.5 also still works on El Capitan, by the way.

In practice though, at the moment it might be impossible to download GarageBand because of an App Store bug. Just try. If it fails with a "because macOS version 11 [Big Sur] or later is required" error message, you may need to wait until they have foxed the bug.
