It appears you are having some difficulty sharing a rented movie between devices. Note that you can only watch rented movies on one device at a time.

I rented a movie from iTunes using my iMac (Mojave 10.14.6). I decided instead to watch the movie on my MacBook Pro ( El Capitan10.11.6) Historically, the movie would be available on the MacBook Pro as well. I realize I would not be able to watch the movie on both devices simultaneously, but the movie does not appear on the MacBook Pro. What's required?
