Apple Watch disconnecting from Apple fitness app on Apple TV during workout

I’ve had the same issue but have not tried not using my new Air Pods. This is very frustrating as I use them during workouts so I don’t wake up the family, this is really a major issue with such a new and helpful workout program. Please fix this Apple.

I know this is an older post. Were you also using your air pods during the workout?

It seems there is a Bluetooth issue when using both the Apple Watch & Air Pods with the Apple TV during the workouts.

That actually worked for me, and solved the problem thanks!

However I’m not sure if I feel happy to have managed to find a workaround the issue or angry about the fact that I cannot use my apple-own-brand headphones whilst working out.

Long gone are the days when Apple products ‘just worked’ - sigh

I had this problem and contacted Apple support, they were unable to resolve the issue. We tried every workaround in the tech’s arsenal, and arrived at “just use the watch with the iPad instead of Apple TV for now”.

I think it’s a bug with the Apple TV and watch telemetry communicating properly. The health data doesn’t quite update in real time.....

I’ll strongly advice against that, unless you want to waste your time and ruin the rest of your day

I updated to OS14.4 on my iPhone and watchOS 7.3 on my watch and the problem went away.
