Facebook Messenger unsent messages in inbox

Hallo, I received a few messages in Facebook Messenger from someone who subsequently unsent them before I’d read them. Is there any way I can recall these messages on an Apple device?

Are my Facebook Messenger messages being read? I sent a Facebook Messenger message I want to meet and therefore was not added to my friends list or any list on Facebook (he has an iPhone). I just got a “Sent” receipt on my side and I also know that he (the recipient) got a notification on their iPhone lock-screen stating: “ …myName wants to send you a message”. Can I know if he has read it or not? What I find strange is that at least I should have got a “Delivered” mark on my side. Has he disabled read receipts somehow? (I learnt that you cannot disable read-receipts on iPhones). Even if he has disabled this somehow, shouldn’t I get at least a “delivered” mark? Any help much appreciated
